Service Description

Learn how to maintain, replace and adjust your bike's transmission and derailleurs. This comprehensive module will allow you to master the essential elements to always ride smoothly with precise gear changes. Objective: Become independent in maintaining, changing and adjusting the elements of your bike's transmission, by understanding the standards, part compatibilities and the necessary settings for optimal operation. Program: • Identification of components: Learn to recognize the key parts of the transmission and derailleurs: cassette, chain, chainrings, bottom bracket, and front/rear derailleurs. • Disassembly and installation of a cassette: Use the right tools to disassemble and reassemble a cassette without error. • Chain change: Check for wear, shorten a chain, and assemble it correctly for an efficient transmission. • Derailleurs adjustment: Adjust the stop screws and cable tension for smooth gear changes, whether at the front or rear. • Replacing cables, housings and shifters: Learn cutting, installation and adjustment techniques to ensure precise operation of the gear system. • Parts compatibility: Understand how to choose the right components based on your bike and its configuration (number of gears, chain type, cassette size). • Derailleur hanger straightening: Diagnosis and straightening of the derailleur hanger to ensure proper operation of the rear derailleur. • Maintenance tips: Cleaning, lubrication and regular maintenance to extend the life of the components. This training includes theoretical and practical contributions, led by a qualified professional mechanic. You will have access to a room equipped with all the necessary equipment to disassemble and reassemble the mechanical elements of your bike. However, it is necessary to bring your own bike, and spare parts are not included in the price. The cycle is accessible to all levels: beginners wishing to learn the basics or cyclists who already have some knowledge, everyone will be able to progress at their own pace.
