Bike ride to the Honey Farm

Cycle a 22 km loop and explore the beekeeping world of the Miellerie à Tire d’Aile.

5 hr

Service Description

Embark on a cycling adventure in the heart of the Ardèche, exploring magnificent landscapes and meeting passionate artisans. This 22-km route, accessible by mountain bike or electric bike, will take you along beautiful hilly roads through the villages of Gilhoc-sur-Ormèze, Champis, and Saint-Sylvestre. A route punctuated by superb panoramas and unspoiled natural spaces, where time seems to stand still. The Col des Fans, the highest point of our loop, offers a unique view of the valley, and on a clear day, Mont Blanc looms on the horizon. Here, forests and meadows follow one another, punctuated by small, characterful hamlets, before descending towards the Miellerie à Tire d'Aile, a beekeeping farm nestled in the heart of the landscape. This is where we meet Barbara and Franck Béraud Lami, beekeepers since 2014, who have chosen respectful and local beekeeping. With more than 400 hives, they produce a wide range of honeys, royal jelly, fresh pollen, and propolis, all with a focus on the well-being of the bees and the surrounding biodiversity. Here, everything is done to share their expertise and passion. You will discover the fascinating world of bees through an educational hive, visit the workshop where the honey is extracted and bottled, and understand the importance of each step, from the work of the foragers to the harvest. The experience will conclude with a tasting of honey and other hive products, an explosion of raw and natural flavors. What's included in this experience: • A guided tour to fully enjoy the trail and learn more about the region and beekeeping. • A helmet is provided for safe riding. • A water bottle to keep you hydrated throughout the ride. Optional: • The option to rent a mountain bike or electric bike if needed. Practical information: • Honey house tours take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. An experience that combines the great outdoors, discovery, and local flavors. A special moment to immerse yourself in splendid landscapes and share an authentic moment with passionate artisans.
